- actor/actress vs performer — actor/actress = aktor/aktorka (film, teatr), performer = wykonawca w szerszym sensie (muzyk, tancerz, artysta na scenie). The performer on stage tonight isn't an actor but a jazz singer.
- classic vs classical — classic = klasyczny, uznany za wzorcowy (np. a classic film), classical = klasyczny w sensie epoki/gatunku (classical music, classical literature). "Casablanca" is a classic film, but it doesn't have a classical soundtrack.
- audience vs public — audience = widownia, publiczność (konkretnego wydarzenia), public = ogół, społeczeństwo. The audience loved the play, and soon the whole public was talking about it.
