High or pop culture?
🎯 Po co Ci to? Porównasz „kulturę wysoką" i popkulturę bez snobizmu — opinia B2 z kryteriami.
📖 Tekst — Who decides what counts as culture?
Some people reserve the word „culture" for opera, classical novels and museum rooms that whisper. Others include TikTok dances, football chants and blockbuster films. The old split — high culture vs pop culture — still appears in essays, but critics argue the border moves. Shakespeare was popular entertainment before he became „serious literature". A viral song can be clever; a famous painting can be empty for you.
A more useful question than „Is it high or low?" is: Does it make you think, feel, or see differently? Taste is personal, but reasons can be shared. „I respect ballet," says Ola, „and I also learn storytelling from a well-made series. Both can be art if we pay attention."
