Present Continuous and Present Simple for the future (arrangements, timetables) · vs be going to

🎯 Po co Ci to? Dwa czasy „teraźniejsze", które mówią o przyszłości: Present Continuous o ustalonych spotkaniach (bilet kupiony, termin wpisany), Present Simple o rozkładach i harmonogramach.

📐 Gramatyka w pigułce — trzy formy obok siebie

Forma Znaczenie Przykład Sygnał (wskazówka, nie reguła)
Present Continuous ustalone spotkanie, rezerwacja, umówiony termin; zwykle z innymi ludźmi I**'m meeting** Tom at 6. We**'re flying** to Rome on Friday. konkretny czas / miejsce, czasownik ruchu lub spotkania
Present Simple rozkład, harmonogram, program, niezależny ode mnie The train leaves at 6:45. The course starts in October. leave, arrive, start, finish, open, close
be going to mój zamiar, niekoniecznie z kimś umówiony I**'m going to tidy** my room this weekend. plan „w głowie”

  • ✗ I meet Tom at 6 tomorrow. → ✓ I*'m meeting** Tom at 6 tomorrow.* (umówione)
  • ✗ The train is leaving at 6:45 every day. → ✓ The train leaves at 6:45 every day. (rozkład)
  • ✗ I'm going to the cinema tonight — I decided just now. → ✓ I*'ll go** to the cinema tonight.* (nie ma jeszcze planu, tylko decyzja)
  • ✗ What time is the lesson starting? (o stałym rozkładzie) → ✓ What time does the lesson start?

💭 Pomyśl

💭 Pomyśl: „I'm going to see the dentist" i „I'm seeing the dentist at 3".

Drugi.

🔍 [R] Subtelności: zdania czasowe i warunkowe o przyszłości, be due to

  • Po when, as soon as, until, before, after, if, unless nie stawiamy will: I'll text you as soon as I find out what time the meeting starts. Present Perfect podkreśla zakończenie: …as soon as I have found out.
  • Be due to = ma nastąpić według planu: The train is due to arrive at 7:15. Formalniejsze niż Present Simple.
  • Present Continuous z always / forever o przyszłości nie istnieje; przyszłe irytacje wyrażamy will keep + -ing: He'll keep interrupting, you'll see.
